“Still Life with Martin Johnston Heade’s ‘Ten Hummingbirds’” by Mary Aro   c

Welcome to my home page!

I am currently updating this old page to include new links and information about the art classes I currently teach.  I hope to update the old links as well to English and German sites.  For my fledgling Art History page by Drew S., click here.  The final project in Art History is a researched defense of a 20th or 21st century artist.  Student samples include Gigi’s research on Kathe Kollwitz and Tyler’s research on Brancusi.  In my sample on Rauschenberg, I utilized the New York Times obituary and other sources.

For the latest on South grad Ana De Roo check out this link to Princeton’s web site!

The research project below is for my Freshmen English classes as they research the Elizabethan Era. Other students researching any topic can use it to find helpful links and general information on the research process.  The American Literature Harlem Renaissance WebQuest is a project I created to help kids explore the art, music and literature of the 1920s.  Check out the German links, particularly my former stomping grounds in Freiburg, Germany.  Finally, two links are included here for South High School’s Advanced Placement Language and Composition students.   Our new Contemporary Essayist Project is designed to foster an understanding of how the top American newspaper columnists use language for persuasion today.

So, Enjoy!
