Mr. Buckman's Second Grade Class

Each spring, the schools in Grosse Pointe Public Schools host an event called the "Celebration of Learning." This is a time when the children can share their collections of work (their portfolios) with their parents, review the goals that were set earlier in the year, and show their parents points of interest around the room and school. The children act as hosts and answer questions about their learning. Trombly's "Celebration of Learning" was Wednesday, March 29. The children wrote about their "Celebration of Learning" experience below.

The Celebration of Learn was great. I showed my portfolio to my mom and I think my mom really enjoyed my favorite soups bar graph. I showed my mom all of my teachers and my mom and my teachers got a long. She met new friends here for Celebation of Learning and now she will talk to them. I felt good when my mom said excellent to all of my work.

On Wednesday, 28 March I showed my mom my story Best Chrismas every. I think my mom loved the neatness of it. I showed my mom my Pete the Penguin story on computer she loved my pete. I showed my mom my couplet she thought it was funny . I felt great after the conference.

On Wednesday Trombly school had Celebration of Learning Night. My mom drove me to Trombly. By the time we got to Trombly my conference was ready to be started. So I showed my mom my portfolio. And in my portfolio I showed mom some of my old work but mostly I showed her my new work. I've been doing some new work between 2000-2001 and I showed my mom some stuff from off the computer and showed my mom around the room. She loved what was in my portfolio and in the room and also on the computer. After our conference was over we said good-bye to Mr. B and left. I introduced my mom and dad to some of the teachers in the school Trombly then my mom
went to sister's conference because dad had to watch me in the gym. After mom and sister came down from sister's room I told mom the books I wanted and after we bought my books dad took sister home. Then mom started talking to one of her friends and after she was done talking she took me home. I think Celebration of Learning Night was a big success and I hope my next Celebration of Learning Night will be as good as this one or even better.

On Wednesday, March 28, 2001 Trombly's Celebration of Learning was great. I showed them Pete the penguein. I think dad really liked it because he said,"Great work".
I showed them my diorama. I think my mom really liked it because she likes looking at crafts. I let my parents litsen to Two Little Groundhogs. I think both of them really liked it because they said, "I really like that". I felt really delighted when my parents said," Good work.

On Wednsday, March 28, 2001 it was Trombly's "Celebration of learning night" it was fantastic. My Mom was suprised how well have writing my Pete story. It was thee pages long in my notebook. I was improving in my goals. My Mom loved Mr. Buckman's home page she thought it was terrific. I felt great to show my Mom my portfolio.

On Wednesday Trombly's "Celebration of Learning'' was great. My mom met special teachers like Mrs. Allan, Mr. Hipple, Mrs. Mower. My mom met them and got to know them. I showed my mom our website. We almost got to everything in the website. I showed the Pete the penguin story and picture. My brother saw him on the wall. I felt nice about myself for showing my work.

The Celebration of Learning was exciting. I shown my Pete the Penguin story. I really enjoyed showing my spring poem. I showed the computer. I really enjoyed Celebration of Learning. I showed my desk. I really enjoyed having a conversation with Mr. Buckman and my aunt. I felt excited when we went to all the rooms with people talked to all the teachers.

On Wednesday, March 28th, Trombly's "Celebration of Learning" was terffic! I showed my story to Mom. She thought it was super funny. I showed the Laws and Rules Book. My Mom thought the book was cool because she saw great illustrations and she saw lots of good laws and rules. I showed my Mom the classroom website. My Mom saw tuns of cool work from other students and me. I felt super proud when my Mom said" I loved all your work.

On Wednesday March 28 Trombly had it's "Celebration of Learning". In " Celebration of Learning" I showed my Mom and Dad my portfolio. I think my Mom and Dad liked it because it was neat. I showed my Mom and Dad my Pete the Penguin. I think they liked it because of it's eyes and arms. I also showed my Mom and Dad my Descution sheet. I think they liked it a lot because they could read it. I felt special when my Mom and Dad said they liked everything a lot because it was neat.

Celebration of learning night was terrific. I showed my mom and dad my portfolio work. I liked showing my parents my diarama. I showed my mom and dad the classroom helper board. I showed my parents the teachers. My mom liked the internet and so did my dad. My perents liked the ground hog poems. On that night I was feeling my best ever.

My Mom, my brother and I went to the Celebration of Learning on Wednesday at school. I showed my Mom the Library, the Music room, and the Art room. My Mom took her time looking at the Art room. I showed her the table that I sit at. My Mom and my Brother took a tour around the Class room. I showed my Mom and my Brother the How to study Spelling words poster, the Grosse Pointe board map, and my diorama. I showed my mom the class room web site. My mom put on the hed phones and listen to the two little Groundhogs poem. I felt relaxing, calm, and a little proud.

On Wednesday afternoon, Trombly's "Celebration of Learning" was extraordinary. I introduced my aunt to the gym teacher Mrs. Allen. I introduced my aunt to the gym teacher Mrs. Allen. My aunt liked Mrs. Allen. I liked that. I walked around the classroom with my aunt. I walked around the classroom with my aunt showing her all of interesting new things all around the classroom. I read my story Lake Michigan to my aunt. I read my story Lake Michigan to my aunt she liked it. I feel real proud inside for having a hole bunch to show my aunt at the "Celebration of Learning" and I had a fantastic time at the "Celebration of Learning".
