TRANSITION RESOURCES
It’s never too soon to start thinking about your child’s life after high school.
Start now to learn and plan for your child’s opportunities with some of the
following information:
 |
Grosse
Pointe Public Schools formally starts to look at the transition after high
school when the student becomes 14 years old. At the web site below The Grosse
Pointe Public Schools System explains basic transition services for their
students:

 |
The
next web site, The Michigan Transition Resource at
http://www.cenmi.org/tspmi/, provides information about training and
workshops centered on student transitions to post-high school life that families
can attend. Besides the workshops, the Michigan Transition Resources site
connects to
www.miconnections.org,
which
is a
project funded by a federal grant, administered by the Michigan Department of
Education.
The project links 14 to 22 year olds with disabilities to opportunities to
explore jobs and careers in technology-related fields.
The Michigan Transition Resource site offers publications and articles that
address transitions and a great deal more.
