A Little Bit About Me

This is my 12th year teaching Kindergarten at Monteith. I received my Master's in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood from Wayne State University. I have also taught preschool, first grade and second grade. The children usually refer to me as Mrs. D.
I love to read and sing to children!
I am married to Bill, who is very supportive, and have two daughters. Caroline just graduated from U of M two years ago and is teaching 3rd grade in Virginia for the 2nd year (Go Blue!). Jessica is a senior at U of M in nursing. She completed an externship at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC for this past summer!
I love to read, walk, garden, swim laps, kayak, and cross country ski, (and travel to see my girls!) I have been training to walk 1/2 of the Detroit Free Press International Marathon on Sunday, October 19. Wish me luck!
