Purpose: students will add like decimals using decimal
tabs
Instructions:
Hand out decimal tabs and review like decimals
Have students with like decimal tabs get up and add
their amounts (do not worry if the answer is an improper fraction)
have the students practice with each other.
Why does it have to be like fractions? Have two unlike
fractions add up and see what we get. Does it match its answer card? No (set
cards up before hand i.e. ½ + 3/4 find the the 4/6 card and match. It
doesn’t work)
