STUDENT AWARDS
Students
throughout the years have won many awards for their accomplishments in Video
and Television Production. The student film festivals are a perfect
opportunity to showcase quality production work for others to view. Each
year students have submitted entries to Detroit Area Film & Television
(DAFT) Film Festival, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS)
PSA Contest, the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA) Monthly
Contest, and International Television and Video Association (ITVA)

WGPS Sports - 1st Place at MAB for Play by Play - Feb. 2008
With the dream of
commentating sports in the future, Adam B. and Dexter M. of South's TV
Production Program are one step closer. They are the voices of South’s
sports coverage that airs on Comcast’s Educational Access Channel 20. Both
students were recently awarded a first place honor in the Michigan
Association of Broadcasters - High School Television Competition for their
sports play by play of the GP South’s Homecoming game in October. In
addition to the award, the duo has been invited to announce the Michigan
High School Athletics Association’s internet broadcast of the upcoming
basketball finals in March. |
