STUDENT AWARDS - 2007GPS
TELEVISION PRODUCTION HAS GREAT YEAR!
From the beginning of January to May is the
student film festival season for many of the high school television
production programs throughout the State of Michigan, and TV Production
students from Grosse Pointe South High School Television programs stood up
to the competition. Throughout the spring, sponsoring organizations were:
Detroit Area Film & Television (DAFT) and Michigan Interscholastic Press
Association (MIPA).
On May 7, 2007, Grosse Pointe Television
students were represented at the Detroit Area Film and Television (DAFT)
Student Film and Video Festival held at the Detroit Institute of Arts’ Film
Theater. Grosse Pointe TV students received awards in the Excellence and
Honor. The award for Excellence was given to South’s – Ryan A., Katie R.,
Kelly B., Paul S., and Nicole M. for their documentary on the History of
Carhartt.
Grosse Pointe South Honor winners from South
were awarded to: Ali M. and John M. for their Retirement Tribute; Ali M.,
Michelle C. for the History of the Edsel Ford House documentary;
At the Michigan Interscholastic Press
Association individual winners included: PJ R., Kyle S., and Andrew L.
taking second place for their music video “Your Heart is an Empty Room.”
Third place in the same category was: PJ R., Matthew H. and Scott M. with
their skateboarding music video.
