 | The children are
actively involved in a economy unit
in which they earn credits and debits. Throughout each week, students can
earn credits for any number of things. For example, students who hold
classroom jobs each
week earn credits according to the Team Gill Payroll System.
Credits are also earned at random
for following rules, showing good character, putting extra effort into
school work, and being responsible at Ferry School.
|
 | Debits are given to
students when they break classroom and school rules (including hallway and
playground).
|
 | At the end of each pay
period, students add up their credits and subtract their debits to
calculate their weekly total. The students use a spiral bound account
book to keep track of their totals.
|
 | A paycheck is issued to
the students on Fridays and a cashier at the classroom bank issues them
the proper amount. The store opens every other Friday. Students can
either spend their money or SAVE it for items with a greater
value.
