Course Objectives

	Provide a positive learning environment that supports the general ed curriculum
	Motivate students to be active learners
	Teach organizational skills to enhance learning
	Teach problem solving skills
	Teach self-advocacy skills and encourage independent thinkers
	Offer students assistance in academics as well as personal issues
	Modify the curriculum, instruction and assessment when deemed necessary
	Offer assistance to general ed teachers when working with my students

Policies and Expectations

	Student completes assignment books and bring them to skills class
	Student works on academic subjects and seeks assistance with general ed class/homework
	Student cooperates with peers and adults in the classroom
	Student completes the rest of their homework at home

Parent Participation

	Use the student’s assignment book, Pinnacle and email as a means of communication
	Encourage students to consistently complete their homework (about 1 hour/night)
	Encourage student to reach his/her potential and encourage student responsibility for his/her success

My Schedule

	SRC skills classes 1st, 2nd, 5th (B day) and 6th hours.
	Co teach with Mrs. Garland during 3rd hour for 6th grade reading and during 5th (A day) for 6th grade writing.
