SPECIAL SKY EVENTS 2008

Dec. 1            Venus and Jupiter make a stunning pairing of planets in the western early evening sky.
Today is the date when they are closest together.  The young crescent Moon is nearby as
well, making this a good photo opportunity.

        Dec. 21              Winter begins at 7:04 a.m.

Dec. 27             If you point a telescope at Venus in the evening sky, Neptune is nearby- only
                                1.4 degrees NNW of Venus!
