My Goals as Your Student’s Teacher

·        I will strive to teach students to become both complex readers and writers.

·        I hope to provide a positive learning environment in which students feel comfortable to take risks while improving their analysis skills.

·        I will teach with a student-centered approach to learning, constantly considering alternative approaches based on the various intelligences in the classroom.

·        I will always be fair and approachable to make the learning process as positive as possible.

·        Finally, I hope to instill in all students the ability to approach reading and writing in a complex manner, which will be applicable to future English classes and other courses.

·        Students will be able to understand and analyze the complex relationship between author’s purpose, rhetorical strategies, and audience.

What can parents do to help their student succeed?

·        Please provide your student with encouragement; emphasize that learning is a process and a journey.

bullet

·        Please expect homework at least 3-4 times a week.

bullet

·        Finally, do not hesitate to contact me if problems or questions arise.  Please feel free to call me at North at 313 432-3372.  I check my email several times a day, so email is the most expedient method of communication.
