This class is set up like a "true" life model.  The students will be responsible for choosing a career, interviewing for a job, planning a budget, learning basic information about the stock market, finding an affordable place to live, designing and decorating the living space for that "home", as well as planning and preparing their own meals.

A community service project will be done by all the students and they will be working with their team to complete the project.

"Oh dear, I have to find a job I like.........and how do I interview for that job?  Why do I have to have a budget?  Why can't my bedroom have a flat screen TV on the ceiling?  I want a swimming pool in the center of bedroom, why won't that work?  What do you mean I have to live in a 14" x 20" room; all the "things" I have or want won't fit!  Meals at the fast food chains will work just fine, won't they?  You mean I have to cook for myself?"  These are the issues the students will discuss in this class.  We'll take advantage of  technology using various programs to find out some of the "mysterious" answers to these thought provoking questions.
