My name is Susan Richner and I am the speech-language pathologist at Maire Elementary and The Foundation for Exceptional Children for the 07-08 school year. This is my sixteenth year with Grosse Pointe Public Schools.

I have worked with all grade levels including preschoolers. I have a Masters degree from MSU and I just earned my Reading Specialist Endorsement from Oakland University this summer. I have two children, a sixth grader at Pierce and a tenth grader at South. While I work with your child, I practice acceptance, encouragement, and gentle humor to promote self-esteem and progress in the area of speech and language.

Components of my speech-language program for the 07-08 school year:

	Individualized hearing screenings during September
	Small speech groups (groups of 3-4 are typical)
	Weekly homework assignments beginning in October
	Monthly selections from "Mrs. Richner's Prize Box"
