Welcome to Mrs. Sexton's web site!  Click one of the links above to access other pages in this site. Students, please check the homework page if you are absent, and you should see me if you have any questions.  Parents, the homework pages are a great way to see what your child has been doing in class.  The Notes and Handouts pages have some information presented and/or handed out in class.  I've added an ACT Notes page where I will post helpful information.

PLEASE NOTE:  I have individual work pages for each of the courses I teach.  On the work pages, I have placed the most current day's work first with any homework that was assigned.   My hope is this will make it easier to see what was done in class each day, and still allow parents and students to scroll down to see what was done on previous days.

Vacation Reminder:  Don't get rusty over the long, well-deserved summer break.  Read and write daily--whether it is a journal, a letter, or a poem--texting does not count!  Have a wonderful and safe summer.  Remember, if I can be of any assistance next year, please stop by my classroom.  Take care.

June Tip:  "There shall be eternal summer in the grateful heart." Celia Thaxter

May Tip:  "The ability to concentrate and to use your time well is everything if you want to succeed in business--or almost anywhere else for that matter."  Lee Iacocca

April Tip:  "Courage is not the towering oak that sees storms come and go; it is the fragile blossom that opens in the snow."  Alice M. Swaim

March Tip:  “The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.”  Mark Twain

February Tip: "You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection."  Buddha

January Tip: "Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better man."  Benjamin Franklin

December Tip: "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."      Winston Churchill

November Tip:  "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."  John Fitzgerald Kennedy

October Tip:  Look for a better way...carve your pumpkin from the bottom!  It's easier to get the seeds and "stuff" out; you can still carry it by the stem; it's easier to "light"--just put it over the candle. (from Dan Gilbert, Chairman and founder of Quicken Loans, new team orientation and Isms)

September Tip:  Rid yourself of last year's oversights and start fresh and new!  Don't put off until tomorrow, what you could (and should and need) to do today.
