Ideas
Writing has the main idea that plants could make us sick. The body paragraphs link causes and effects about the main idea, like ingesting plant material (poison) inhaling plant pollens (allergy), or touching poison ivy (allergy—oils). All the paragraphs tell about the main idea.

Organization
Writing has an interesting beginning. Writing has a body paragraph with at least one cause effect link. Writing has a conclusion.

Sentences
Writing is interesting because it has a variety of sentence lengths or different kinds of sentences.

Word Choice
Writing uses action words that keep the reader interested. Transition words help the reader understand the cause and effect. When the pollen counts in the Spring of the year are high, some people get runny noses and watery eyes because these people are allergic to the pollen.

Convention
Spelling, punctuation and paragraphing are accurate.
