Science teachers can use it to prepare
students for taking the Science Meap.
All teachers can use it to help students with test taking strategies.
Teachers can access the presentation from the website, borrow the CD-ROM, and or have the CD-ROM placed on the shared drive of the school for teachers and students to access.
Administrators can present the PowerPoint through the video announcements as a school-wide effort to increase awareness for successful performance on the Science Meap Test. After all, many of these strategies are applicable to the math and social studies MEAP tests.
Use this presentation in conjunction with the handout, which includes the basic content from the slides and a practice, multiple choice and constructed response item. Teachers could ask students to take the practice problems prior to viewing the PowerPoint. Ask students to bullet point how they determined their answers, specifying what strategies they used. After students have viewed the PowerPoint discuss how strategies can help students approach multiple choice and constructed response items.
