Energy is needed for all of life process. We need energy to be able to do work and transfer heat. Work occurs when an object moves over some distance. Energy is often converted from one form to another. One of the main sources of energy is the energy from the sun. It is the original source of energy to most of the energy sources found on earth. What kinds of energy do you encounter? Energy comes in many forms:


1) Heat

2) Light

3) Electricity

4) Chemical

5) Mechanical

6) Nuclear

Energy may be classified into two basic types:

1) kinetic = action or motion

2) potential = stored
