In Memory

On Saturday, January 19, 2008 my father passed away. I will miss him very much.  He had been sick for many years due to heart disease.

My dad was born on November 4, 1931. He served his country in the Korean War and afterwards, finished college and went to seminary to become a Lutheran Minister. As a Pastor, he served in four different cities in Michigan. He was known for having a wonderful giving nature and a great sense of humor. Young and old alike loved him and he was dedicated to his profession which included visiting the sick and the elderly and taking care of those that needed extra help.

A few days before he passed he was very fortunate to be able to visit my sister who had just given birth to my nephew “Evan.”  (My dad always enjoyed being with his 7 grandchildren.) Grandparents never seem to run out of love and my father just glowed with happiness when he held Evan in his arms.

I appreciate all of the support of people at North.  My dad was and is very important to me. I’ve posted some fun pictures of him on part of my web site. The pictures are fun because in some of them, he looks like me!  :-)

My father’s official obituary is at http://www.harrisfhome.com/obituaries.htm

Artistic flair runs in my family (just like yours)!  My Nephews (above) have created a couple of drawings illustrating how my brother and I went deer hunting over break. Follow the link to find the drawings and more family pictures!!

This is a picture of me in front of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. I led a People to People Student Ambassador group to Europe for 3 weeks this past summer (Miss. Clay the math teacher was also a leader in my group). It was a fun and educational program.  This summer, I am taking a group of high school students to France, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. To learn about different cultures and see great things. I love to travel.  Do you?   Ask me about People to People Student Ambassador Programs or go online at http://www.studentambassadors.org

Mr. Thies reminds his students nearly everyday...”Eat a good breakfast and get some exercise.”
