Guidelines for Mr. Thies' Art Room

   1. Begin class in your assigned seat.
   2. Bring a pencil (minimal requirement).
   3. Respect the people around you.
   4. Respect the materials. You will note that all students will participate in keeping the classroom clean and orderly.
   5. Food/drink/gum are not permitted.
   6. Remain seated at the end of the class until dismissed by your teacher.

Classroom Rewards

Students participate in a positive, comfortable atmosphere where they learn about art production, art history, aesthetics, criticism, and themselves.

Consequences

In the art room, behavioral consequences rarely need to be addressed.  However, in the event that a student needs reinforcement, I try to follow this chart to keep track of behavior and consequences. In the event that a student needs immediate serious attention, I reserve the right to send a student to the office at any time. Generally, this is only done in the event that student safety is an issue.
