Art Announcements:

1. On October 28th, 2008, Xinping Li visited the North Art Dept.  She is a Chinese filmmaker interested in making a documentary about American life. She brought Chinese artists who demonstrated traditional calligraphy and landscape painting. Above, see a slide show of the event. Over 100 North Art students met the artists and tried to do calligraphy themselves.  Click here to see the pictures and a bio of the artists.

3. The 2008 Grosse Pointe North Spring Art Show was very successful. We had over 1,000 student works displayed in the North Media Center! The pictures from the Art Awards and the Art Show are posted here.

6. Special congratulations are in order for many dedicated art students at Grosse Pointe North High School.   North won 23 awards including 2 Regional Gold Key Portfolios and 1 Silver Key National Portfolio at the 2008 Scholastics Art Competition.  The pictures from the show are posted on the “Scholastics 08” page. We visited CCS on Feb. 12 to see the show and really enjoyed seeing all of the wonderful art.
