Effective Living helps an individual develop an identity in today's world.  Students gain insights that help them understand themselves and others.  They also learn the importance of a wholesome personality: what it is, how it can be developed, and how it benefits both the individual and society.  Students study personal values relating to sexuality, marriage readiness, conflict resolution and current social issues as they affect individuals and families.  Parents who do not want their children to receive instruction in human sexuality should not approve this elective on the course section form.  Students may wish to combine this course with Independent Living.
