Study in brief, but frequent intervals. Talk out loud whenever you study Spanish. The more you speak the more you will remember. Take good notes in class. Write down everything the teacher writes on the board, overhead projector, or power point presentation. Study with a partner. One-half hour spent in intense study with a friend or someone who may know more Spanish than you is equal to an hour studying alone. Do not talk about Spanish; talk in Spanish. From time to time, write down everything you can remember in Spanish; have someone check it for you. Develop a flexible, relaxed attitude toward speaking Spanish. When someone speaks Spanish to you, try to say the same thing back without translating it into English. Begin to think of Spanish as a game, and try to eliminate English as much as you can while playing. Review, review, review! Every night, whether there is a written assignment or not, spend 15 minutes going over earlier lessons. Make a WRITTEN NOTE of any questions that you may have and ASK YOUR TEACHER as soon as you can. Don't trust your memory to remember your questions.
