Student E-mail
All students at North and South have access to email as part of their computer accounts. The acceptable use policy applies to the use of the email account as well as to general computer use. All students should be familiar with its rules and regulations.  See Student Computer & Network Acceptable Use Agreement (JCD-R).

What is my email address?
The format for an e-mail address is as follows:

StudentID@students.gpschools.org

For example, if your student ID number is 90001548, your e-mail address would be:

90001548@students.gpschools.org


How do I access this account from home?
Your e-mail account is accessible from home or anywhere in the world with access to the Internet and a web browser like Internet Explorer. To access it from home, click on the Student Email link in the upper right hand corner of the main page of North web site (http://north.gpschools.org), or enter the following URL in the browser address box:

http://students.gpschools.org

A login screen will appear:

Enter your user name (student ID number) and the computer password you use to login to the network at school. The password may be case sensitive, so make sure the Caps Lock is off. Leave "Domain" blank. Click OK.

Your email account will open, and the screen should look similar to this:


How do I access this account from school?
At school you can access your email through the web just as you do at home or you can access it from the Start menu when you are logged on to a school computer: 
Start
 Programs  Microsoft Office  Microsoft Outlook
The opening screen will look like this:

While the two interfaces vary in appearance, they both contain the same options. You can send messages by clicking on New Message:

Double click on a message to read it, or set up an address book by clicking on New Contact and filling in the contact information:

 
To send an email to a GP teacher or student:
Select New Message.
The new message box will open.  Type the email address for the message.  If you wish to email a GP student or staff member, you can click on the To button and the Find Names dialog will appear.  Type in the beginning of the last name and then click Find.  One or more names will be display in the space below the find button.  Select the correct name and then click To and Close.
