We all love amusement parks. The thrills and chills the rides the upset stomachs. What a blast!
However, before you can experience the excitement of an amusement park, a lot of serious time and energy is spent determining where to locate a park.
The location must be chosen very carefully. Just consider if an amusement park is buried under snow ten months a year? Or what if you have to wait in line for hours with temperatures soaring into the 100s?
Would you go to a park located near a volcano? Would you ride a roller coaster built on an earthquake fault line? What type of vegetation would best support the mass influx of customers? The selection of a site is not as easy as you may think.
The Cedar Point Amusement Park Company has hired our class as consultants to investigate seven sites for their new amusement park, Cedar Point Deluxe. Each consulting team, consisting of TWO members, will research a potential park site. The company has chosen the following sites as possibilities for the new park.
8 Arusha, Tanzania, Africa 8 Jarrell, Texas, USA
8 Boston, Massachusetts, USA 8 Saipan, Japan
8 Commonwealth of Dominica 8 Saskatchewan, Canada
8 Hong Kong, China
Before you begin, please choose a business colleague (partner) to work with on the project.
