I Run
I run because the voices in my head tell me to.
I run to face the challenge.
I run to think.
To think about me and about my life.
I run for comfort and peace that comes to me.
I run to see just what I can do.
I run for everyone cheering for me
And encouraging me.
I run for the memories and best friends.
I run to hear my own breathing,
To remind me of how great it is to be alive.
I run to see my reflection in the window as I
pass,
And I know I’ll see her again tomorrow.
I run to listen to my footsteps and to the latest
movie review.
I run while singing my favorite songs,
To see how tired I can get.
I run for the wind at my back and the sun on my
face.
I run to follow the paths left for me,
And to leave my own trails.
I run because I can.
